Cappadocia (from pers. Katpatuka - "the country of beautiful horses") — It is an incredible place in central Turkey, created million years ago by two volcanoes, named Erciyes and Hasan.

They erupted to the surface of the earth a monstrous amount of fire-breathing lava, which turned into a huge, stone sea. Over the centuries, rains, winds and earthquakes, destroying and eroding lava deeper and deeper, created unprecedented stone sculptures from tuff. This resulted in a unique, fantastic natural landscape. Giant steles, cone-shaped pyramids, frozen stone waves, rivers and waterfalls crowned with mushrooms, three-storey “sculptures” of mystical animals, mysterious bottomless caves. The raging elements have created a fabulous, simply alien terrain. Cappadocia - magic music frozen in stone!

Thousands of years ago, new life appears in solidified lava. People in the silence and beauty of the multi-colored desert build their homes in caves, light fires, explore the world and discover themselves, pray and strengthen religion. The interpenetration of the cultures of many peoples: Greeks, Copts, Armenians, Georgians and others - gave rise to a special, unlike anything else, rocky temple architecture, as well as a unique fresco painting that has no analogues in the world in terms of a variety of styles.
